A 900mm black angled chimney hood from Lamona, and the wide partner to the 60cm LAM2709 we already stock. The angled canopy sits closer to the wall than a traditional box chimney, so it clears the space above a hob without crowding the room — and at 900mm it covers a five-zone hob or a range top properly, which a 600mm hood does not.
It moves up to 543 m³/h ducted and carries an A+ energy rating, which is unusually good at this width. Three speeds plus a boost, and a single five-layer washable aluminium grease filter that goes in the dishwasher rather than being replaced.
Why you cannot buy this direct. Lamona is Howdens' own brand and Howdens sell only to trade account holders. We hold the account, so you can buy the same appliance without one.
Before you order — the three things that matter
- It is 900mm wide. Your hob should be no wider than the hood. If you have a 600mm hob, the LAM2709 is the same appliance at 600mm.
- The outlet spigot on the hood is 125mm. Howdens' own installation manual then recommends ducting out at 150mm and states that 150mm is the optimal duct size. Neither figure appears on Howdens' web specification — both come from the installation manual and the LAM2710 spec sheet. Do not buy a 125mm duct run on the strength of the spigot alone; ask us and we will send you the manual.
- It is hard wired. There is no plug. Total input power is 78W, so it is a light electrical load, but it still needs connecting rather than plugging in.

Installation
Wall mounted, ducted externally or recirculated internally. A carbon filter is required if you recirculate and is not supplied — Howdens do not publish a part number for it against this model, so please ask us before assuming a filter from another Lamona hood will fit. Two things on Howdens' own data, stated plainly
The model number on Howdens' page is wrong, and so is its sibling's. Howdens' specification shows Model Number: LAM2709 on this 900mm hood, and shows LAM2710 on the 600mm hood — the two are swapped. We have confirmed against the LAM2710 spec sheet, whose packed dimensions are 900mm-sized, that this listing is the 900mm appliance. Buy on the product code, which is LAM2710.
Howdens' description says “up to 543 m³/h” while their specification caps ducted extraction at 542.7 m³/h. That is a rounding rather than a disagreement, but we would rather you heard it from us.
