The LAM2478 is a 900mm wall-mounted stainless steel chimney hood with touch controls, three speeds and A+ ratings for energy, fan efficiency and grease efficiency alike. It shifts 600 cubic metres an hour ducted, which is the strongest figure in our current Lamona hood range, and it carries three washable grease filters across the 900mm span rather than the one or two you often find at this size.
Before you order, three things to check
- It is wall mounted, not built into a cabinet. You need 900mm of clear wall and 500mm of projection. The telescopic chimney covers a height of 475 to 855mm, so measure from the hob surface to your ceiling and check that range covers it, particularly in a room with high ceilings or a sloping ceiling.
- The recirculation carbon filter is not included. Howdens' specification reads Carbon Filter: Required for Recirculation - Not Included, and they do not give a filter part code on the page. If you cannot duct to an outside wall, ask us and we will get the correct filter code from Howdens before you order. The outlet reducer is included on this model.
- Howdens do not publish a duct outlet diameter for this model. We will not quote a diameter we cannot source. If you are buying ducting to match, contact us and we will confirm it with Howdens first.
It is hard wired on a 5A supply with a 1.5m lead and no plug fitted. There is no remote control, no timer and no wireless function; lighting is two 1.5W LEDs at 6500K natural white.

Worth reading closely: recirculating performance is published at 94.5 to 314.9 cubic metres an hour against 206.6 to 600 ducted, so on this hood recirculation costs you roughly half the airflow. Duct it to an outside wall if you possibly can.
