The LAM2380 is the 90cm version of our quietest canopy hood, and on Howdens' own figures it is the best of the range on paper: Quiet Mark certified at 56dB, grease efficiency A, and 523 cubic metres an hour rising to 590 on boost. It hides inside a 900mm wall cabinet, so the only thing on show in the room is the underside and the push-button controls, and it is the one hood in this batch for which Howdens publish a duct diameter.
Worth knowing if you are choosing between sizes: Howdens publish the 90cm as quieter than the 60cm, 56dB against 61dB, with the same 122W motor and the same 590 boost figure. If you have the cabinet width, the wider unit is the better buy on their numbers.
Before you order, three things to check
- It needs a 900mm cabinet. Howdens give a Minimum Cabinet Size of 900mm. The unit is 857mm wide, 350mm high and 280mm deep and sits inside the carcase. Howdens publish no separate aperture figure.
- Ducting is 150mm. Howdens publish both an Outlet Spigot Diameter and a Ducting Kit Diameter of 150mm for this model, so buy 150mm ducting. The outlet reducer is not included, so if you need to step down to 125mm you will need one.
- The recirculation carbon filter is not included. Howdens' specification reads Carbon Filter: Required for Recirculation - Not Included. The matching Howdens filter is LAM2014; ask us and we will source it with the hood. We are deliberately not quoting a pack quantity, because Howdens' own filter page contradicts itself on how many are in the pack and we are getting that confirmed.
The remote control is not included. Howdens do not state this in words on the product page: the specification lists Connectivity: Infrared and, in the remote control field, Supplied With: Available Separately. The matching remote is sold by Howdens under its own code, LAM2075. That is our reading rather than a Howdens statement, so if a remote matters to you, ask us and we will confirm before you order. Note also that the hood page says Infrared while the remote's own page says Radio Frequency, and we have asked Howdens which is right.
It is hard wired on a 10A supply with a 1.65m lead and no plug fitted.

Note that Howdens publish the same figures for ducted and recirculating extraction, 331 to 523 cubic metres an hour. On most hoods recirculation performs below ducted, so we would expect real-world recirculating performance to be lower. Ducting to an outside wall is always the better installation where it is possible.
