The genuine carbon charcoal recirculation kit for the Lamona LAM2952 90cm stainless steel ceiling cooker hood. Activated charcoal strips cooking smells and airborne grease out of the air before it is returned to the room, so the hood can work without ducting to an outside wall.
This filter is not supplied with the hood. Howdens list it as required for recirculation and not included, so if you are running your LAM2952 in recirculation mode rather than ducting it outside, you need this kit before the hood will do its job properly.
Important — it fits the LAM2952, not the LAM2951
We sell two Lamona ceiling hoods that look very similar and cost exactly the same. This kit is for the LAM2952 only.
The LAM2952 is rated for both ducted and recirculated installation, and Howdens' installation manual for it names LAM2015 as its carbon filter in three separate places. The LAM2951 is a ducted-only hood — its published venting type is external, and its own installation manual leaves the carbon filter part number blank. If you have a LAM2951 and recirculation is your only option, please contact us before ordering, because on Howdens' own data this filter is not specified for it.

How long does it last?
Howdens' installation manual for the LAM2952 gives an average carbon filter life of around 900 cooking hours, or three to five years in normal use. The hood has a filter replacement indicator, so it will tell you when the time comes. Because the filter is non-washable, it is replaced rather than cleaned — washing a charcoal filter destroys it.
If you cook heavily, or fry and grill a lot, expect the shorter end of that range. It is worth keeping a spare.
