TAP8337 Alvo Professional Brushed Nickel Swan Neck Pull Out Kitchen Tap

A professional-style pull-out tap from the Alvo range, finished in brushed nickel. The spray head pulls out of the swan neck spout on a flexible hose, so you can take the water to whatever you are rinsing rather than the other way round — filling a pan sat on the drainer, washing down the bowl itself, or getting into the corners of a deep sink. A single lever controls flow and temperature together on a quarter-turn action.

At 495mm tall with a 229mm spout reach, it clears a stockpot comfortably, and the swivel spout swings clear of the bowl when you need the space.

Howdens specify a water pressure range of 1.5–5.5 bar and rate this tap Suitable for High Pressure Systems. It is not suitable for a gravity-fed or low-pressure supply. If your hot water comes from a cylinder fed by a tank in the loft rather than from a combi boiler or an unvented cylinder, this tap will not perform properly. Please contact us before ordering if you are not sure what you have — we sell a number of taps rated from 0.3 bar and we would rather point you at the right one than take a return.

The finish

The brushed nickel is applied by the Finox plating process. Finox is a matt brushed nickel — a warm silver rather than the bright mirror of polished chrome — and it is considerably better at hiding fingerprints and water spotting, which is why it tends to end up on taps that get heavy use. It carries a 5 year manufacturer’s guarantee, with 2 years against the surface finish.

Check your worktop depth. This tap will fit through a sink or worktop up to 55mm thick. A thick composite or stone deck can exceed that — measure before you order. You also need 55mm of clearance behind the tap for the lever to travel, which matters if you are fitting against a window sill or an upstand.

The tap has a replaceable Neoperl honeycomb aerator, so in a hard-water area the insert can be swapped rather than the whole spout descaled.
