A proper bridge tap: the body sits up above the worktop on two pillars, with a tall swan neck rising from the centre and a lever either side. It is the shape people picture when they think of a traditional kitchen tap, and at 402mm high it is the tallest thing in the Victorian range — designed to stand over a butler or farmhouse sink rather than tuck behind a modern inset bowl. Brushed nickel keeps it soft and warm-silver rather than the hard glint of chrome.
Read this before you order: it needs two tap holes. Unlike the single-hole Victorian mixers, this is deck mounted across two fixed inlets at 45mm each. If your sink or worktop has one tap hole, this tap will not fit it — the chrome or aged brass Victorian swan neck mixer is the single-hole equivalent.
Both levers use ceramic disc cartridges and quarter-turn operation. Note that Howdens specify the flow as Single Flow: the two levers control hot and cold separately but the water is mixed and delivered through the one spout outlet, in the normal way. Their own page describes this as "independent control", which reads as though hot and cold arrive unmixed — they do not, and we would rather tell you that now than have the tap come back.
This one works on low pressure. Rated from 0.3 bar and listed as suitable for low to high pressure systems, which is what makes it usable on a gravity-fed tank — rare in a tap this tall.
