TAP3434 Lynstone Professional Matt Black Swan Neck Pull Out Kitchen Tap
A matt black pull-out tap for the price of an ordinary mixer. The Lynstone Professional keeps the rigid swan neck of the standard Lynstone but adds a nozzle that withdraws on an internal hose, so you can direct the water into the corners of a bowl, rinse a colander held over the sink, or fill a bucket standing on the floor beside the unit. At 496mm tall in a flat black finish it is the most dramatic tap in the Howdens budget range by some distance.
Two things to check before you order. First, this tap needs mains or pumped pressure: it is rated 0.5-5 bar and Howdens class it as suitable for medium to high pressure systems only. If you are on a gravity-fed tank, choose the standard Lynstone matt black mixer (TAP3432) instead, which works from 0.3 bar. Second, the maximum sink and worktop thickness is 39mm — noticeably less than the 55mm allowed on the standard Lynstone — so measure your sink deck or worktop before ordering. A thick composite sink may be too deep for it.
The rest of the practical detail. One tap hole with a 48mm footprint, surface mounted, flexi tails on a ½" BSP female thread, and all fixings and the instruction manual are supplied. The valve is a ceramic disc cartridge. The aerator on the pull-out models is built in rather than replaceable, unlike the standard Lynstone mixers — worth knowing in a hard-water area. Howdens do not publish a hose length for this tap and we would rather not quote a figure we cannot stand behind; ask us and we will get it confirmed. Clean the matt black finish with a damp cloth only — cream cleaners and limescale sprays will dull it.
