The Lamona LAM9009 is a 14cm-high built-in warming drawer in black, holding up to 20 plates at anything from 30 to 80 degrees. It slots into the shallow gap above or below an oven in a tall housing, and it is the difference between serving a roast onto warm plates and serving it onto cold ones.

Before you order: two things to check
Howdens publish no cabinet aperture for this model. We are not going to invent one. What they do publish is the appliance itself: 140mm high x 595mm wide x 550mm deep, which is a standard 14cm accessory drawer in a 600mm cabinet. If you are building a new housing rather than filling an existing 14cm gap, contact us before you order and we will get the aperture figures from Howdens in writing. Getting a 140mm appliance into a 140mm hole with no tolerance is exactly the sort of thing worth confirming first.
It is hard wired, not plug-in. Only 413W on a 3A supply - trivial by appliance standards - but it still has no plug on the end and still wants an electrician to connect it, with a 1.4m lead to work with. If you are having an oven fitted at the same time, get both done in one visit.
What we would tell you in the showroom
- 30 to 80 degrees, across six functions. That range covers warming plates at the low end, holding a cooked dish at serving temperature in the middle, and - at the top - proving dough or slow-cooking.
- Twenty plates, or 30kg of load. That is a full dinner service for a big table, and the 30kg figure means you can stand a heavy casserole in it without worrying.
- Soft-close. A drawer full of crockery that shuts itself gently is worth more than it sounds.
- A single rotary control. Nothing to learn, nothing to go wrong.
- Matt black, to match the matt black Lamona ovens - the LAM3752 single pyrolytic in particular.
On the finish: Howdens' own description calls this matt black, twice, while their title and their colour field say plain Black. We have reproduced their specification as published and mention matt black because their own copy does. If the exact sheen matters for matching an existing appliance, ask us and we will confirm with the depot before you order.
On the functions: Howdens publish a count of six functions but do not name them, though their description mentions defrosting and slow cooking. We are not going to list six functions we cannot see. Ask us and we will get the list.
