Before you cut the cabinet: this microwave needs an aperture of 560mm wide × 380mm high × 500mm deep (minimum). Howdens' own product page publishes an installation width of 360mm, which cannot be right — the appliance itself is 595mm wide. The Lamona LAM7350 is a 34-litre built-in microwave with a 900W microwave and a separate 1100W grill, finished in stainless steel to sit alongside a Lamona oven in the same run of housing. Touch controls, five power levels, an LED clock display and a childlock. It arrives with a fitted 13A plug, so unlike a built-in oven it needs a socket rather than an electrician.
"38cm" is the height, not the width. Howdens name their built-in microwaves by aperture height. This one is 382mm high and 595mm wide, and it goes into a standard 600mm housing unit. Trade paperwork calls the same appliance "60cm" — it is the same product.
It is a turntable microwave, not a flatbed. The glass turntable is 34.5cm across, so a large rectangular dish may catch as it turns.
The door drops down, like an oven door, rather than hinging to one side. Worth knowing when you decide how high in the housing to put it.
