Before you order: the aperture, and one number worth double-checking
The housing aperture is 1940mm high x 710mm wide x 550mm deep. This is a 700mm cabinet, not a 600mm one - it will not go into a standard integrated fridge freezer housing, and that is the single most important fact on this page.
The height clearance is tight. The appliance is 1935mm tall in a 1940mm aperture, so 5mm to play with, and Howdens publish No Adjustable Feet for this model. On a tall integrated unit with no feet to level, that 5mm is worth measuring twice - particularly if your floor is not perfectly flat. Talk to your fitter before you cut the aperture.
It runs on a fitted 13A plug with a 1.7m lead, so no electrician is needed. The door is reversible.
The 70/30 label, and what the capacities actually are
Howdens name this appliance a 70/30 and publish a specification row saying 70/30. Their own published capacities do not divide 70/30. They are 285 litres fridge and 86 litres freezer, which is a 77/23 split. Both figures are on this page and they add up correctly to the 371 litre total.
We are pointing this out rather than repeating the marketing split, because if you are choosing between models on freezer size, 86 litres is the number that matters. It is a generous fridge with a modest freezer. If you need a bigger freezer share, tell us and we will point you at a different model.
What we would tell you in the showroom
- Quiet Mark certified. A fridge freezer runs 24 hours a day, and in an open-plan kitchen that is the difference between noticing it and not.
- Frost free freezer plus automatic fridge defrost. No defrosting, ever.
- An open-door audible alarm - genuinely useful on an integrated appliance, because you cannot see that the door has not latched behind a cabinet front.
- A removable bottle rack and four adjustable shelves.
- 285 litres of fridge is a lot of fridge. This is the model for a large household or someone who shops once a week.
One caution on siting. The published ambient range is 16 to 38 degrees. That is narrower than most, and it means this appliance is not suited to an unheated garage or an outbuilding that drops below 16 degrees in winter - it will not hold temperature reliably. Keep it in the heated part of the house.
Howdens do not publish the door-fitting mechanism (fixed bracket or sliding hinge) or a wattage figure for this model, so we are not stating either. Ask us and we will confirm with the depot.
