The Lamona LAM3752 is the top of the Lamona single oven range: 72 litres, 15 cooking functions, pyrolytic self-cleaning and an A+ energy rating, behind a quadruple glazed soft-close door in black. Howdens describe the finish as matt black in their own copy.

Before you order: the cabinet aperture
This oven needs a housing aperture of 590mm high x 560mm wide x 550mm deep. Note the 550mm depth, which is 10mm shallower than the stainless LAM3713 needs. The appliance body is 595 x 594 x 567mm and overhangs the aperture, as a built-in oven should. Measure the aperture, not the appliance you are taking out.
It is hard wired, not plug-in. 3400W on a 16A supply with a 1.4m mains lead. It needs a dedicated circuit and an electrician.
It weighs 46.9kg unpackaged - the heaviest single oven Lamona make. Two people to lift it into the housing, not one.
What we would tell you in the showroom
- Fifteen functions against the stainless model's eight, including Fan with 3D Hot Air, which circulates heat from three directions so you can cook on more than one shelf without swapping trays halfway.
- A+ energy rating and 0.69kWh on a fan cycle, against A and 0.80kWh on the LAM3713. Over a few hundred roasts that is real money.
- Pyrolytic self-cleaning. The cavity burns itself clean; you wipe out the ash.
- Rapid Heat preheat and a soft-close door, neither of which the stainless model has.
- A quadruple glazed door - four panes, so the outer face stays cooler. Worth having if there are small children in the kitchen.
- Halogen cavity lighting rather than LED, which gives a warmer, brighter view of the food.

Two honest notes on Howdens' published data. First, their summary Oven Function row reads only Conventional and Fan, yet the same specification also lists Number of Grills 1, a Variable Single Zone Grill and Fan Grilling as a cooking type. This oven does grill; the summary row is incomplete, and we have reproduced it as published rather than quietly correcting it. Second, Howdens publish no Supplied With row for this model, so we cannot tell you exactly which racks and trays are in the box. Ask us before you order if it matters and we will confirm with the depot.
