A full 60cm double cooker that sits between a built-in oven and a range. Two separate cavities — a 69 litre fan oven below and a 36 litre conventional oven with grill above — sit under a four-zone ceramic hob, in one 600mm-wide freestanding unit. You stand it in a gap rather than building it into cabinetry, so there is no aperture to cut and no worktop to route, and it comes with you when you move.
You cannot buy Lamona without a Howdens trade account. We have one, so you can.
Read this first — the electrical supply
This cooker is hard wired. It does not have a plug. It is supplied with a 1.4m mains lead and needs a dedicated cooker circuit and an isolating switch, fitted by a qualified electrician. A 13A socket will not run it.
Howdens' own two electrical figures for this cooker contradict each other, and we are not going to choose one for you. Their specification states Amperage Required: 32A and, on the same page, Maximum Input Power: 10100W at 220–240V — but 10,100W at 230V draws roughly 44A, not 32A. Both rows are reproduced below exactly as published. Have your electrician size the circuit from the rating plate on the appliance, and please ask us before ordering if you are relying on an existing 32A cooker circuit. We would rather answer that question now than have you take delivery of something your supply will not run.
The two ovens do different jobs
The main oven, at the bottom, is the fan oven — 69 litres, two functions, five shelf positions, two shelves, and a halogen light. Howdens list it as fan cooking with a defrost function, and explicitly without conventional cooking, fan grilling or a grill of any kind. It is the everyday oven.
The top oven, at 36 litres, is the conventional oven and the only grill — upper and lower elements, three shelf positions, one shelf, a fixed dual-zone grill, and a drop-down door. Use it for grilling, for browning, and as a second oven when the main one is full.
Both doors are triple glazed, and both cavities are rated A for energy. Neither has telescopic runners, rapid heat or delay-start cooking — there is a timer and a clock, but you cannot programme it to switch itself on later.
Cleaning is enamel easy-clean liners in both cavities, not pyrolytic self-cleaning, plus removable door glass. If pyrolytic cleaning matters to you, look at our built-in Lamona single ovens instead.
The hob
Four ceramic zones, 1.2 to 1.7kW each, six power levels, with a hob-on indicator and residual heat indicators. There is no pan detection and no keep-warm setting — and being ceramic rather than induction, it will heat any flat-bottomed pan but will not match induction for speed or responsiveness.
One row we think Howdens have got wrong
Their specification gives the main oven a Door Opening: Left value, while the top oven correctly reads Drop Down. On a 60cm freestanding double cooker of this shape we would expect the main oven door to drop down as well, and a side-hinged main door looks to us like a value carried over from a built-in oven record. We have reproduced the row as published rather than quietly correcting it. Ask us and we will confirm with the depot before you order.
For the same reason we have not repeated Howdens' description of the grill as "full width": their own specification says Fixed Dual Zone Grill, and that is what we are telling you it is.

Howdens publish no installation or clearance dimensions for this cooker, which is normal for a freestanding appliance — but do allow for the gap to be a little wider than 600mm so the cooker can be slid in and levelled, and remember the doors need room to open. Ask us for the installation manual before you commit to a gap and we will send it.
