View full detailsEvery home cook knows that you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Similarly, no gourmet meal can be made without there being a little bit of food waste – both during the preparation phase and when handling the washing up after mealtime. So, being able to dispose of your food leftovers without hassle or clogging up your sink is critical to keeping things running smoothly in your kitchen over the long term.
Though not as common in UK households as they are in other parts of the world, now is the time to seriously consider investing in a food waste disposal unit. We Love Kitchens can help you find the perfect unit for your kitchen, whatever your household’s needs.
We promise that you’ll find the perfect disposal unit to make waste disposal that much easier and give you more time to focus on cooking, you’ll soon wonder how you ever lived without one.
Food waste disposal units come with many benefits. Our units will make your kitchen life significantly easier and are a great investment for the longer term.
Many people experience problems with clogged sinks, which can become even worse if the blockage travels. You can try to remove the clog yourself, but this requires time and effort. If you’re not skilled, you may need to hire a plumber. Investing in a waste disposal unit will eliminate the need for either of these, and will save you money and effort.
We understand that your kitchen is an important part of your home. It’s somewhere your household will use daily and is likely one of your social spaces, so having unwanted smells isn’t a great thing. Our disposal units remove food waste efficiently, helping to prevent odours, reduce what goes into your bin and therefore limits your contributions to landfill.
Just as your other appliances have energy efficiency ratings, your garbage disposal has similar. It’s important to us that our products help both you and the environment, which is exactly what our disposals do. Waste disposals eliminate the need for plastic bags and rotting food.
Disposals sit below your sink and are operated by a small but powerful motor. These motors drive blades or grinders that break up food into smaller, fine particles that easily pass through your plumbing without any problem. There are two main types of disposals out there, continuous and batch feed. Continuous units are more common, they are operated via a switch. Batch feed units require you to place your waste in and then close a lid. Whilst continuous units are easier to use, batch feed units are safer for families with children or if you’re not used to having a unit.
After you’ve decided what type of unit you’d like, considering what size motor will work best for you is important. The smaller the motor, the less powerful it will be. You need to assess what types of food you’ll be putting down it, and also how much food. For reference, one-half horsepower motor is suitable for a single person household with soft food, and a three-fourths is typically better for a larger family that uses the unit regularly and with a combination of food items.
Whether you’ve been using a food waste disposal unit ever since you first stepped in a kitchen or you’re looking for your first one, We Love Kitchens has the unit for you. You can relax with fast and convenient delivery so your food waste will be gone in no time.
